One of the most well-known and popular drinks in America
during the summertime is the Margarita.
It is the most common tequila-based
cocktail in the entire United States!
A little background about this delicious drink: Margarita is
a Mexican alcoholic beverage consisting of tequila and orange flavored liqueur
with lime or lemon juice. It is said that a bartender in Ensenada, Mexico named
Don Carlos Orozco created the Margarita. As legend has it the drink is named
after Margarita Henkel, daughter of the ambassador of Germany at the time,
because she was the first person to taste it. Pretty cool, right?
Now after the brief history lesson, you probably want to
know just how to make one. Well the Margarita is a complicated drink. Margaritas
can be served on the rocks, frozen or straight up. For those of you who don’t
know the difference: on the rocks means shaken with ice, frozen means blended
with ice in a blender, and straight up is an option without any ice at all.
Feeling colorful or what a fruity taste? Make your drink flavored with Strawberry, blueberry,
pomegranate, and mango, just to name a few options. Once you’ve chosen how you want your
Margarita prepared and what flavor you can choose salt, sugar, or perhaps
nothing on the rim of your glass.
With the newest health kick sweeping America,
the Margarita can now be made skinny. A skinny drink is a less calorie option
and still has a similarly delicious taste. Most of the time a skinny drink is
made with Splenda substitute. In this case a great pre-made skinny drink is the
SKINNYGIRL Margarita by Bethenny Frankel.

So what mood are you in? A frozen Margarita? A Margarita on
the rocks? Or a fruit flavored Margarita?
I absolutely love this idea! The description really described what the blog was about and its purpose. You even gave a scenario to use the drinks in. I also like how you included non-alcoholic drinks in your description! In your about me section, stating that you are a bartender makes me trust your recipes, since people pay you to make drinks anyways. In the first post, you posted some delicious drinks that I'm also a fan of. I'm about to go out to dinner with friends, and I definitely know what drink I'm in the mood for now :). Great job!
ReplyDeleteYour about me was a perfect. You explained your credibility for the subject and your love for it. It makes the reader feel connected and want to read on.
ReplyDeleteYour description was very short, sweet and to the point. Also, it’s nice that you have included a wide audience of drinkers and non-drinkers in regards to alcohol.
I really liked your first post; even the history was fun to read! I liked how you gave websites for readers to search for more info. Since your background in white I would be careful using light colors like orange and green. I would have made the body of the text in black and then the Frozen Strawberry Margarita could have been red to correspond with the strawberries. Also, since your description mentioned that you would be offering non-alcoholic drinks I would at least touch on the fact that this drink can’t be made without alcohol. (At least I don’t think so) Try not to just ignore that audience. I look forward to reading may more of your posts!
